finance

But time in Copán Ruinas is giving me some opportunity to read and think about space and the interrelations between the many Peace Corps, volunteers and developed country organisations that have a presence here, and the local economy and engagement. Funding for a lot of this seems a little mysterious. Lots of 'fundraising' in the US to come back and implement more projects that are deemed necessary.

Thinking Spanish...

´The field´is getting closer. In two weeks I'll be at the first field site. However I'm already in Honduras and preparing some Spanish ability.

This has given me a little time to think about Honduras, the issues that might be in play, and to talk to people who are unrelated to carbon projects, but who have interesting opinions on the uneven development in the country.

Why has the World Bank poured a lot of money into one community south of Copan Ruinas, and not the other´s near-by? "Politica" said my compadre as we rode our horses along the river side.

Watch this space...
